Bird Flu is transmitted by many forms of poultry. The virus was identified in birds and poultry that had contact with excretions. It rarely occurs that avian influenza transferred into the human species. The first known strain of HPAI killed two flocks of chickens in Scotland in 1959. One of the ways Vietnam tried isolating the virus was exporting chicken out of the markets.
